Archival records are essential if a heritage place is being demolished or substantially altered. The aim is to identify the unique qualities of a place, creating a permanent record to inform ongoing understanding of our cultural history, and significant events.

Most archival recordings are undertaken as a requirement of conditions attached to Development Approval under the City of Rockingham Town Planning Scheme No.2.

The City applies the document “Guide to preparing an archival record” which is published on the State Government website
